Croquet Summer School a great success! - 29/07/2008 20:28 by John_Low
The Summer School organised by the SECF and the Croquet Academy has just finished a very successful week at Southwick. 20 applicants attended for the Association part of the course and all felt it had been a profitable and pleasant week. Many thanks to Daphne Gaitley and her team of coaches for such marvellous tuition. The food was delicious and many thanks to Barbara Kitching and her helpers.

The launch of the Academy has been a great success. Every course run so far has been a complete “sell out”. The initial Golf Croquet weekend was totally oversubscribed and a second course was created at very short notice to dovetail in with the Association Summer School.

Academy launches first courses - 21/04/2008 20:41 by John_Low
The weekend of 19th and 20th April 2008 saw the first croquet courses undertaken by the Academy and the Sussex County Croquet Club.
Three courses at different levels took place: Improvers, Bronze level and Silver/Gilt level.
Some 50 particpants and 10 volunteer coaches took part, making the event the largest coaching weekend to have been organised at this venue.

Cold and wet weather on the Saturday did not greatly dampen the enthusiasm of the players (helped by delicious hot soup as part of the lunch menu available) and they were rewarded with pleasant weather on the Sunday.
