Entry on the club online entry system at thecroquetacademy.com is the preferred method. There is no need to complete a paper form as well.
2.
Cheques should be made payable to "The Croquet Academy". Please state the course(s) on reverse of cheque.
3.
If you wish to pay by electronic transfer, please email the Course Secretary shown against each course for account details.
4.
Morning coffee, light lunch and tea will be available on all courses unless you are notified otherwise. Please confirm on the entry form that you will be having lunch and indicate any special dietary requirements.
5.
Please indicate other coaching courses attended during the prior two years.
6.
If an email address is provided, your entry receipt and further communications will be made by email.
7.

8.
Cancellations: Within 1 week of start of course - no refund; outside one week - refund of fee minus £5 administration charge.

Reservations for courses are based on the time the booking is confirmed with payment. Availability for courses will be updated on The Academy website, and once a course is full applicants can be considered for the reserve list.

A one day course targeted at Beginners and all grades of Improvers in the ‘C’ Level handicap category.

Content includes: Playing techniques including striking the ball, hoop running, principles of tactical play, promoting partner ball, effective use of extra turns, understanding basic rules, clearing opponent ball, jump shots, cannons, tactical problems.
3.
Participants will be split into coaching groups dependent on their needs/ability.

This course is designed for handicap ranges of 4 and above.

Building confidence and consistency with a series of practice routines used by the best players. Looking at tactical situations and how to make them work. Understand playing strengths and weaknesses analysed, learn ways to work towards improving on both. A session on jumping at all levels will be included, accuracy in ball placement, blocking, clearing, promoting and hoop running.

Do you want to increase the enjoyment you get from competing at croquet at the same time as actually playing better and winning more? Anyone can do it - if they decide to adopt the right approach to the art of competing. Understand the difference between the Major Game and the Minor Game and how to ensure that you never lose at the Major Game. Learn some effective mental devices to reduce the unwanted effects of conscious thoughts at the wrong time.

A chance to explore how effective your techniques are. Test your swing on our Croquet Academy Swing Trainer – ‘CAST’ and feel where you can tweak it for better effect. We’ll video this and other parts of your play so that you can see what’s going on, be advised and act on what you see. After some diagnostic assessments, we will give you individual advice to take away and work on.
2.

Other topics, including rules, strengthening the ‘will to win’ and dealing with the ‘inner you’ will be discussed as a mini forum.

Attendees will be split into small groups with players of similar standard and play out either scenarios or games.

Your coach will talk you through various tactical options as the game unfolds, as well as some ‘set pieces’ that should be recognised and avoided, played for or handled with care!
Rules will be discussed as they happen and some you may be unsure of will be explained.

A chance for newish AC players to take part in a friendly tournament with at least 4 x 14 point games in a day. All games will be to a base level so everyone has bisques! The exact format will be AMD. Advice on tactics and laws will be given before the day starts, and after each of the 1st round games by experienced coaches. There will be time for shot practice and help.
